Biography
Hailing from Raeford North Carolina the fearless captain of Modern Political Debate is none other than I, Jarvis Steele. I’m a 19-year-old military child who has seen a fair amount of the world and decided at a young age that its important to make politically informed decisions for myself. I am a double major studying philosophy and political science with hopes of one day being a lawyer. I am a student at Georgia Southern University and a member of the honors program on campus. I picked my co-hosts based on their opinions and articulate ways in our FYE class of the same name. I like to play soccer, video games, write and do school work. I hold myself to the highest of standards all the time because to be excellent you have to perceive yourself as excellence. Politics are for almost everyone and the more I study the better I understand why it’s a field for me especially. My mother went to college for criminal justice and before switching his major (to criminal justice) my father went for mass communications, this helped spark my interest early in the field of radio broadcasting. I want my show to be fun, innovative and relevant. The listeners should feel like they are just one of us when they tune in but when they turn it off they should feel like they learned something important and relevant to their day to day lives. It is my goal to leave a mark on the world because I feel like I have the ability to do so and together with the rest of my team on Modern Political Debate I know that I will. Tune in from 2pm- 3pm on 91.9 “The Buzz” to find out anything else about me.
